The Nikon 18-200mm makes some compromises in quality to get that lovely zoom range, but it's still pretty good. Unfortunately the third party brands don't do 18-200mm as well, and the Canon brand 18-200mm isn't as good either. For telephoto, Canon makes a very good 70-300mm IS. They also make a cheap 75-300mm that isn't as good. Tamron makes a cheap 70-300mm and a very good 70-300mm VC that is reputed to be competitive with Canon and Nikon brand's higher end 70-300mm models. For the wide to slight telephoto end, if you have the money it could be worthwhile investing in the Canon 15-85mm IS. If you someday upgrade from the 1000D to one of Canon's 18MP models, you are money ahead by having lenses that can match that kind of resolution.

Tough choice, what are you going to be using it for? If you are a beginning photojournalist or wedding photographer and are going to need that f/2.8 then I say go with the Tamron regardless of images quality because some softer images are better than no images. If this is just a recreational use lens then I would say go with the Canon because the build quality is far superior, the value will hold if you take care of it and ever want to sell it, and the images will be far sharper.

A Qwest tech replaced a phone jack, will I be charged?

My internet was down for two weeks and after calling customer service numerous times for the past week, they finally got someone to come out to my house. Qwest's policy is that they give you the options of doing it yourself, hiring an outside technician, or having the Qwest tech fix it, but this Qwest tech guy just did it without asking and left before I can ask anything. My husband will not admit his wrong doings. In situations when he's overreacted or said something that crosses the line, he turns it around while and states everything that the other person did wrong that ld him to act the way he did. Since your young if you did have diabetes, it would more than likely be Type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in 2006 and I had barley turned 20. The symptoms that I experienced were: thirst - I drank 6-10 two liters a day, hunger- I would eat about 9 large meals a day and snack in between. I would feel very hungry and thirsty, but throw up my food because my stomach was so full (& I had unknown high blood sugar). I was exhausted all of the time.. I would walk a few steps and I had to catch my breath, like I just ran a mile. Another symptom for me was weight loss. The more carbs I ate- the more weight I lost. This being because my body couldn't use it's insulin for energy; so it ate away at my fat and muscles to convert them into energy. If you had diabetes or were developing it- they would be strong signs. You would also have no trouble loosing weight, if you had undiagnosed type 1 diabetes. The weight would shed off you. I lost over 50 lbs. in 2 months due to this. It sounds to me like you are following a healthy diet and maybe your body isn't loosing weight because a.) you are at your ideal weight and your body plateaued and 2.) your growing and you are a teenager and both of these factors actually increase your Kcal/ calories needs.

I've had this problem since senior year. I hired two boys to model for me, for my paintings one time back in 2007. when I asked them they were very kind and said yes. He knows you have to start sometime, and he may end up concerned if in a few years you're to an age it's a problem you haven't started and he thinks you still haven't. Just tell him, sweetie. You'll feel better not having to hide your bad days, tampons/pads in the trash can, and being able to let him know when you need something. It will be fine. I think in your situation it would be the best choice. And that way you can still be a part of the baby's life. I think you could wait til the baby's a little older and then explain to them why you chose adoption. And at that point, I think they'll not only understand but theyll be happy for the family they have. And he or she will still know that you love him or her and will always be there. While I was working he told me not to tell anyone that I was working around alcohol because I am only 17 and I guess 17 year olds aren't supposed to serve or be around alcohol, he was also drinking wine on the job. I never filled out any tax papers or any forms at all. I feel that I was a little used so what do I do?

How can I make my ADHD/LD son more organized at school?

Next school year is my son's last year of elementary school. Then he moves on to Jr High, where he will have 7 different teachers, 7 different classrooms, and 7 different homework assignments daily. I need to get him prepared and more self sufficient and organized. Currently, his ADHD and other specific learning disabilities make it hard for him to be organized. (He is not in special education classes because his disabilities are not extremely severe, but he does have an IEP which allows him certain accommodations to help with his grades.) He rarely brings home his homework and other important papers. And if he does bring things home, it is usually a few weeks after he originally received it. How can I work on this with him before he gets to middle school? I am hoping to use this summer and next school year to really tackle his organization. The school counselor is supposed to be helping him with this, but she only sees him once a month to clean out his desk and so far she hasn't made any progress improving his organization. This is just a stupid problem to have for starters. are they running a martial arts school or a daycare? Sounds to me like someone passed the buck and left you in charge to do there job!
